Crossing Through
The Israelites left Sukkoth and camped at Etham on the edge of the desert. God led them by a pillar of cloud by day…
…and a pillar of fire by night.
The LORD said, turn toward the desert and camp by the sea.
Pharaoh realized the Israel had fled.
He gathered his entire army to pursue Israel.
When the Hebrews saw the Egyptians they complained to Moses in God’s hearing.
Moses assured them that God would deliver them.
God commanded Moses to lead the people through the sea.
The pillar of cloud stood between Egypt and Israel, leaving the Egyptians in the dark but providing light for the Hebrews.
Moses lifted his staff over the water and a strong east wind blew all night causing it to part.
The Israelites crossed through on dry land.
God hardened Pharaoh’s heart and his army pursued them into the sea.
God threw the Egyptian army into confusion and they began to turn back.
Moses lifted his staff over the sea and it flowed back into place drowning the Egyptian army.
The Israelite saw the bodies of the Egyptians on the shore. They feared God and trusted in Him and in Moses.
